To fix a paper jam, first, turn off the printer and carefully open the access panels. Gently pull out the jammed paper, ensuring no torn pieces remain inside. Once cleared, close the panels, restart the printer, and try printing again.
Where to check?
For Home Printers: First look in the rear paper tray for any paper or objects blocking the paper. Next lift the top of the printer to see the inside of the machine. Carefully lift the white cogs (rollers) to see if there is paper jammed below them.
For Office Printers: Typically the machine should tell you where the paper jam is. The most common paper jams are behind the paper drawers. First remove all the drawers and check if there's any paper hanging from where the drawer was removed. Next some printers have a removable part on the back of the printer to check for paper jams. Finally, lift the top of the printer to check for paper jam near the print head.
