At SelectCartridge, we want our customers to be happy with every purchase. This policy explains how returns, refunds and exchanges are handled for products bought from our website or in our Galway store.

This policy does not affect your statutory consumer rights.

Online Orders

If you buy a product online from SelectCartridge, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, subject to certain exceptions. This is commonly known as the online cooling-off period. Irish consumer guidance states that refunds for cancelled online orders should generally be made within 14 days of cancellation, although the seller may wait until the goods are returned or proof of return is provided.

To return an online order, please contact us by phone or email with your order number and the item you wish to return.

Returned items should be:

  • Unused
  • In their original packaging
  • In resaleable condition
  • Returned with all included parts, manuals, packaging and accessories

Unless the item is faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied, the customer is responsible for the cost of returning the item to us.

Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items

If your item is faulty, damaged, not as described, or we sent you the wrong product, please contact us as soon as possible.

Depending on the issue, we may offer:

  • A replacement
  • A repair
  • A refund
  • An exchange for the correct product

For faulty goods, Irish consumer guidance explains that if a fault appears within the first 30 days, customers may have a short-term right to return the goods for a full refund. After 30 days, a repair or replacement may usually be offered first, depending on the situation.

We may ask you to provide photos of the item, packaging or fault so we can resolve the issue quickly.

Ink, Toner and Printer Cartridges

Ink and toner cartridges can usually be returned if they are unopened, unused and in their original packaging.

For opened cartridges, we may not be able to accept a return unless the product is faulty or incorrectly supplied.

If you believe a cartridge is faulty, please contact us before returning it. In some cases, we may ask for:

  • The printer model
  • A photo of the cartridge
  • A photo of the error message
  • A printed test page
  • The order number or proof of purchase

This helps us confirm the fault and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Printers and Electrical Products

Printers and electrical products should be returned complete with all original packaging, cables, manuals, starter cartridges and accessories.

If a printer has been opened or used, we may need to inspect it before confirming whether a refund, repair or replacement applies.

Please do not return a printer without contacting us first.

In-Store Purchases

For products bought in our Galway store, please return the item to the shop with your receipt or proof of purchase.

If you simply change your mind after buying in-store, we may offer an exchange or store credit at our discretion, provided the item is unused, unopened and in resaleable condition.

This does not affect your rights if the product is faulty, damaged or not as described.

Non-Returnable Items

We may be unable to accept returns for:

  • Opened ink or toner cartridges, unless faulty
  • Products damaged by misuse, incorrect installation or incorrect storage
  • Special order items, unless faulty or incorrectly supplied
  • Used printers or electrical items where the return is not due to a fault
  • Items returned without proof of purchase

Proof of Purchase

Please keep your receipt, order confirmation or invoice. We may need proof of purchase before processing a refund, replacement or exchange.

Refunds

Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will let you know whether the refund has been approved.

Approved refunds will be made using the original payment method where possible.

Refunds may take a few working days to appear in your account, depending on your bank or payment provider.

Exchanges

If you ordered the wrong cartridge or product, contact us and we will do our best to help you find the correct item.

If the item is unopened, unused and in resaleable condition, we may be able to exchange it for the correct product. Any price difference will need to be paid before the replacement item is supplied.
